Storytimes for preschool age children feature themed stories, rhymes, and songs. Most storytimes will be followed by a simple activity. All children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Various puzzles and problem-solving toys are placed in the Children’s Room leading up to our weekly story time at 10:30. ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi for Kūpuna with Kumu Gigi and La'a of Ke Ola Mamo

Join us on the FIRST and THIRD Thursdays for Kūpuna Hour as we partner with Ke Ola Mamo to provide ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi: Hawaiian Language lessons and other Hawaiian cultural activities led by Kumu Gigi “Virginia” Takaki and her daughter La’amea.   “Aloha Mai Kakou O ʻAnakē Gigi keia, Hula, ‘Ōlelo, ‘Oli, Himeni (Mele)” Aunty Gigi is a musical force to be reckoned with, specializing in Traditional Hawaiian, Polynesian and island contemporary music. When she’s not strumming her ‘ukulele, guitar, upright bass or electric bass, you’ll find her as a Traditional Hawaiian Cultural Practitioner for Ke Ola Mamo, a Non-Profit Health and Wellness Organization. Aunty Gigi has traveled the world sharing her music and makes it her mission to mentor the next generation in the music industry while sharing the Aloha Spirit wherever she goes. We look forward to seeing you there!
