Social Service Navigation at Pāhoa Public & School Library A Puna Social Service Navigator and Certified Kokua Specialist from Kumukahi Health + Wellness will be on-site to offer first-come, first-served navigation and appointment setting. Get help with SNAP, MedQuest, the Federal Marketplace, mental health resources, domestic violence support, family services, kūpuna assistance, home repair loans, volunteer opportunities, emergency rental aid, and more. Life in Puna looks different than in other parts of our island, and asking for help can feel hard—even from friends or neighbors. Stop by Mondays from 12–4 PM to talk story and find the support you need. Together, we can do so much. Program is suitable for age 18 and over. All children must be accompanied by a parent or an adult caregiver. Movie Mondays

In celebration of this year’s Summer Reading Challenge theme of ʻUmeke Kāʻeo, we’ll be showing several food-themed movies on Monday afternoons from now through the end of July. Join us on Monday, July 6th at 2pm for our showing of Big Night. Starring Tony Shalhoub (of TV’s Monk fame), Stanley Tucci, Ian Holm and Isabella Rossellini, the movie takes place in New Jersey in the 1950s. Two brothers run an Italian restaurant. Business is not going well as a rival Italian restaurant is out-competing them. In a final effort to save the restaurant, the brothers plan to put on an evening of incredible food.  Please be advised, this film is rated R for language and is thus recommended for ages 17+. Film run time is 1 hour & 49 minutes. Air Dry Clay Vase
